Terms of Use
By downloading or using MagicBooks, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
MagicBooks is a language-learning reader. It takes public-domain books and rewrites each chapter to your current level, lets you tap any word for an explanation, lets you move the blend between your own language and the language you are learning, and offers an optional AI tutor you can talk to by voice or text. Features may change as we improve the product.
2. Accounts
You sign in with Apple. There is no password for us to hold. You are responsible for activity under your account, and you must comply with Apple's terms as well as ours. You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account.
3. Free tier and subscriptions
Three chapters a day are free, forever. The allowance is enforced per account and resets at 00:00 UTC.
MagicBooks Pro removes the daily chapter limit and unlocks unlimited level adjustment, Learn ⇄ Flow switching, and tutor calls. It is offered as an auto-renewable subscription in four durations — 1 week, 1 month, 6 months and 1 year — within a single subscription group, so you can move between them.
- Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy, and are charged to your Apple ID on confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. Apple is the merchant of record for every purchase.
- Restore Purchases is available in the app under Settings.
4. The books
Every book in the library is a classic work of literature whose copyright has expired and which is in the public domain. Titles are added individually from a curated list. We use no licensed or rights-restricted material.
The text you read in the app is additionally rewritten to your language level, so what appears on screen is a derivative work built on public-domain source material.
5. AI-generated content
Chapter rewrites, word explanations and tutor responses are generated by AI models and may contain errors, including errors of translation, grammar and fact. They are a learning aid, not a reference work, and must not be relied on as professional, legal, medical or financial advice. Always verify anything important.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
- Use the tutor or any free-text field for unlawful content, harassment, or to generate material that harms others.
- Attempt to bypass the free-tier limit, paywalls, or security controls.
- Scrape, resell or redistribute adapted content at scale without our permission.
7. Intellectual property
The MagicBooks app, its name, branding, interface and original materials are owned by ED AI LTD. The underlying book texts are in the public domain and are not claimed by us. Third-party trademarks remain with their owners.
8. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ED AI LTD is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of MagicBooks. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or where continued access poses a risk to the service or to other users.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence.
